Barktober Festival
We're thrilled to join the 3rd annual Barktober Festival hosted by @carmichaelrec and @carmichaelparksfoundation to share our love of German Shepherd Dogs and introduce you to our adoptable dogs. Please stop by our booth to say hello and share the love.

Howlin On The Parkway - CANCELLED
The event has been cancelled by the American River Parkway Foundation. We hope 2026 will see this wonderful event return.
We are excited to join Howlin' on the Parkway, a Halloween-themed dog walk and community festival, on Saturday, October 18th, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at William B. Pond Park in Carmichael.
This fun-filled morning will feature our adoptable and ambassador shepherds, various vendors, agility demonstrations, food, and more- all to benefit American River Parkway Foundation's Pups in the Park Program, which provides 60,000 waste bags each year at 15 stations along the Parkway and helps raise awareness about protecting our waterways.

Pet Food Express Pet Fair Adoption Event
Join us at Pet Food Express at Land Park for an exciting day of puppy love during our onsite adoption event for Virtual Pet Fair Month! We'll be there with our wonderful volunteers, adoptable and ambassador dogs, on Saturday, Sept. 27th, from noon to 3 pm.
We can't wait to introduce you to our adoptable dogs. Our list of attending dogs will be finalized closer to the date as our available dogs shifts with new intakes and adoptions.
Whether you’re a German Shepherd enthusiast or just looking for some furry companionship, we're eager to chat about these incredible dogs and share tips on living with them.

Bark in the Park San Jose
We're thrilled to announce our return to Bark in the Park with our adoptable and ambassador pups on Saturday, September 20th, at William St. Park in San Jose!
We’re expecting Jaz aka Bones and littermates Zarah, Willy and Dodger on site as our adoptable puppies looking to meet their potential families. Whiskey will be joining us as an ambassador dog and we’re finalizing additional ambassador dogs to show case our mission in the Animal Rescue Row.
Come join us for a fun-filled, all-day event that's perfect for the whole family! It's going to be an amazing day where dogs and their best friends can have a blast together at the largest dog festival in the United States. We can't wait to see over 6,000 dog lovers and 2,000 furry friends joining in on the fun! Bring your crew and let's make some unforgettable memories!
Pet Food Express Pet Fair Adoption Event
We’re heading to Pet Food Express at Loehman’s Plaza as part their onsite adoption events during Virtual Pet Fair Month. Look for our volunteers, adoptable and ambassador dogs from 11 am to 3 pm.
We love to chat about German Shepherds, resources for living with them and the adventures they lead us on. And we’d love to save more shepherds with your volunteer efforts.
We’re looking forward to sharing lots of puppy love with Dodger, Zarah, Bones, Orange Collar, Aria and Rubi attending. We’re also excited to welcome Whiskey and Kallie as ambassadogs. Some of our dogs will be attending for portions of the event.

Have you heard? Our adoptable pups are hitting the town this Saturday, April 12th! If you’re looking for puppy kisses, our booth at Sacramento SPCA’s Doggy Dash is the place to be. We’ll be attending with dog trainers, pet stores, vets and many dog related vendors alongside food trucks and a beer garden from 8:30 am to 1 pm PST (that’s puppy standard time). Since our little ones tire out, we’ll have our adoptable puppies attend in shifts.
Join our adoptables and ambassadogs saying hello as they bring our volunteers out for socialization and snuggles. While our fur babes will be strutting their stuff in hopes of making #furever matches, our humans will be on hand to talk all things adoption and volunteering. We cannot WAIT to see you, Sacramento!

4th Annual Halloween in the Park - Saratoga
Costumes and all, we're excited to see you at DogHood's 4th Annual Halloween celebration in downtown Saratoga, where you'll join other dog-related vendors.
We’re expecting our adoptable pups Clem and Sunny at our booth and possibly Ollie Bear too. They will all take a road trip from Sacramento to share puppy love and glitter. We’re looking forward to ambassadogs joining our booth as well.

We’re excited to return to Bark in the Park San Jose, especially since it’s their 26th anniversary of supporting animal welfare and providing a terrific outreach event for our rescue.
Join us to learn more about shepherds needing loving forever homes and meet some of our adoptable and ambassador dogs. If you’re looking for puppy kisses, our booth is the place to be. We’ll be attending with many dog-related vendors alongside food trucks from 10 am to 5 pm PST (that’s puppy standard time). Since our little ones tire out, we’ll have our adoptable puppies attend in shifts.

Adoption Event at Paws N Play
Join us at Paws N’ Play Canine Community Center’s Celebration of All Things Dog on the 25th of May building on the success of the inaugural April 7th event.
We’ll have adoptable shepherd puppies and guarantee puppy snuggles and kisses to round out the vendors offering curated selection of goods and meet a variety of other dog service providers. The puppies and dogs attending will updated the week of May 20th.
Plus you’ll learn all about the fun activities, training and rental of space for play (think of it as an indoor sniff spot) all located in River Park.
Terra Ruiz of Wholistic Canine has created a wonderful space for dogs to thrive in addition to the schedule various classes you can participate with your dog.

American River Parkway - Bike Fest 2024
Have you heard? Our adoptable pups are hitting the Bike Fest at William B Pond on May 18th! If you’re looking for puppy kisses, our booth at the Bike Fest Festival is the place to be. Although the festival hours are from 10 am to am to 2 pm PST (that’s puppy standard time) we’ll have our adoptable puppies there only till noon since our little ones tire out.
Gus Gus and Puck will attend as our adoptable puppies; BG, who is adoption pending, will join us for socialization and snuggles. Whiskey, Luce, and Malik will be our ambassador shepherds, ranging from 8 months to 8 years of age, ready to share their successful adoption stories. While our fur babes will be strutting their stuff in hopes of making #furever matches, our humans will be on hand to talk all things adoption and volunteering. We cannot WAIT to see you, Sacramento!

The Sunnyvale Pet Parade is a beloved tradition in the community, drawing pet enthusiasts, families, and pet-related businesses from all around. And we’re excited to return to the Parade to showcase our adoptable shepherds and meet folks who love our favorite breed.

We’ll see you at the Capitol West steps on October 5th to launch the annual Our Promise United Way Campaign 2023 for CA State Workers. Swing by our table to share German Shepherd love and learn about our efforts to help one of the top two large dog breeds at risk in local shelters.

We are excited to head to Pet Food Express Roseville on September 24th, celebrating the 13th Annual Pet Food Express Pet Fair, a fabulous outreach event. We would love your helping hands to share our love shepherds, keep our adoptable puppies entertained, sell our merchandise to raise funds, assist with our Throw Me a Bone game, and showcase our alumni shepherds. We are grateful for your help in continuing to help deserving at-risk shepherds..

Tahoe Tallac Little League has kindly invited us to share our love of shepherds on their Opening Day. Sacramento Adoption Event
We’re excited to launch 2023 with an adoption day at Pet Food Express Land Park.

We’d love your help volunteering, sharing information about our adoptable dogs, and learning how you can help a shepherd find their way to safety from the streets to a warm, loving home and family.
We have confirmed Abbott, Maximillian, Sir Puppington, and Xena as our adoptable dogs; Echo will be attending to give kisses in consolation as his foster family can’t bear to part from him. We’re checking to see if Layla and Lizzy can attend too. Besides Echo, Costello and Sage were just adopted.

Sunday Kisses!!! We’re heading to Pet Food Express Roseville on Sunday, participating in Best Friends National Adoption Weekend with our adorable pups from 1 to 3 pm. Ready for snuggles? Join us to meet your devoted best friend.
If you are not ready to adopt but would love shepherd love, join us to foster, lend a hand by writing bios, interviewing adoption applicants, using your fantastic sewing/crafting skills, or supporting foster homes with walking dogs and environmental exposures.
Our attending dog list is evolving as pups meet their forever matches; we expect littermates Boss, Drax, Marmaduke, Echo and Hunter, Maximilian, Spencer and Layla. We may also have Xena joining us.
Jo Jo, who was expected to attend, is thriving with her adoptive family as of early this week, waiting for her spay surgery to complete her adoption. Rokko is meeting his family before the Sunday event, expecting it to be a match.
